Miami-based Quipp sold a bundle-distribution system, including four Quipp Packman II packaging systems and several floor conveyors (induction stations, free-roller conveyors, matte-top conveyors, pushers, gravity conveyors, etc) to Canada’s Brunswick News Inc., which will install the system in its Moncton, New Brunswick, facility this Summer.
Another summer installation, at the Kingsport (Tenn.) Times-News, will comprise a Quipp Twin-Trak belt conveyor, a stream aligner, two Model 500C Wide stackers, an Electronic Kit for its Model 300 stacker, and three free-roller conveyors. The Model 500C features bundle-compression capabilities and Stream Squeeze rollers for handling thin papers.
The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio, purchased a Signode Model LBX strapper from Quipp to install on an existing Quipp Packman in its Brooklyn, plant.
Other recent orders were placed by The Herald Times, Bloomington, Ind. (Model 501N stacker); Sandusky (Ohio) Register (500W stacker); Casper (Wyo.) Star-Tribune, Casper (501N stacker); Anderson (S.C.) Independent-Mail (Quipp Viper wrapper); Tribune Publishing Co., Mesa, Ariz. (two stream aligners); South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Deerfield Beach (two stacker infeed labeler extensions).
The labelers identify individual products passing into the stackers. Quipp offers two methods of mounting newspaper labelers at the infeed of its stackers: free-standing (mobile; option) conveyor section and an extension attached to the stacker infeed. The extension generally is driven directly from the stacker infeed through a chain, which results in a non-varying labeler conveyor speed consistently matching the stacker infeed speed.
Quipp recently installed a Quipp-Gripp III single-gripper conveyor system and a complete bundle distribution system (two Model 500C stackers two Viper wrappers, four strappers, two Truckloaders, several matte-top conveyors and control software) at Ultimas Noticias – Cadena Capriles, Caracas, Venezuela.
