The monthly newspaper supplement Relish is coming out in book form, Publishing Group of America (PGA) announced earlier this week.
Two volumes of “The Best of Relish,” which will feature 150 recipes and 75 photos, will be published by Countryman Press and will hit stores in May 2009.
“We’re celebrating the cultures and people behind the food in a usable cookbook,” Relish Editor Jill Melton said in a statement. “It’s not food on a pedestal. It’s interesting food [that] tastes good and is fresh and wholesome.”
Relish has sold copies of limited “mini-edition cookbooks” direct to readers. Overall, PGA has sold more than 200,000 copies of book titles including Hometown Heroes, and Home Recipes since 2005.
“Cookbooks are an essential component in our product portfolio,” Steve Minucci, director of business development for PGA, said in a statement.
Franklin, Tenn.-based PGA publishes in addition to Relish, American Profile, Texas Profile, and Spry.
