Report: Online Ad Spending Will Increase to $25.9B by 2011

An estimated $25.9 billion will be spent on online advertising in the U.S. in 2011, according to a report issued by JupiterResearch.

The report, “US Online Advertising Forecast, 2005 to 2011,” was especially upbeat about search search advertising, which it says surpassed display ads last year, and reported that online advertising this year was likely to increase as much as 21 percent. This number, while high, is actually much lower than the company’s 40 percent estimate for last year’s growth in web advertising.
