Reporter Covering Iowa Floods Arrested

A reporter for The Des Moines Register was arrested while covering a levee break that lead to flooding in Des Moines.

According to Polk County Jail records, Register reporter Todd Erzen was arrested on Saturday on charges of trespassing, interference with official acts and resisting arrest.

The 35 year old Erzen has worked at the Register for six years.

The Register?s editor and vice president, Carolyn Washburn, says the newspaper is trying to understand the circumstances of Erzen?s arrest and won?t comment further at this point.
