Reuters, the global news and information provider, has announced the
appointment of three global specialist editors.
Stella Dawson has been named editor of treasury news, and will work in
London effective Sept. 3. She replaces James Saft, who accepted a position as a columnist. Since 2002, Dawson has served as chief correspondent covering the European Central Bank in Frankfurt.
Sean Maguire has been named editor of political and general news; he
replaces Paul Holmes. Maguire will also be based in London, and his position is effective immediately. Prior to this, Maguire served as political and general news editor for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Jack Reerink has been appointed editor of company news. For the past few months, Reerink has been serving as acting treasury news editor in Asia; he previously worked as an Asian equities editor for four-and-a-half years.
Reerink succeeds Mary-Ellen Barker on Sept. 3, and will be based in New
York. Barker has accepted a position handling the integration of the Thompson Corporation with Reuters.
