A story line about CA-MRSA (community-associated methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) will start this Monday in “Rex Morgan, M.D.,” according to King Features Syndicate.
The sequence begins with the death of a teenage boy and the infection of two others.
“Rex Morgan, M.D.” — created in 1948 by the late Dr. Nicholas P. Dallis — has been written by Woody Wilson since 1991 and drawn by Graham Nolan the past eight years.
“We might be a comic strip, but we reach a lot of people with useful information,” said Wilson. “We’ve done stories on dozens of health issues over the years and try our best to both educate and entertain our readers. I know there’ll be readers out there who will wash their hands a little more frequently after following our story, and that’s a good thing.”
