Veterinarians and animal-health-industry people from around Ontario will cycle for about 10 hours this Thursday to raise funds for and awareness of the Farley Foundation.
The five-year-old foundation — named after the dog who died in the “For Better or For Worse” comic 12 years ago — assists limited-income seniors, disabled people, and women at risk of abuse with emergency care for their pets. It has distributed nearly $300,000 to help more than 900 pets.
“For Better or For Worse” cartoonist Lynn Johnston of Universal Press Syndicate has created artwork for the “Ride for Farley,” which begins at 7 a.m. in Mindemoya and concludes in Killarney, Ontario.
An E&P interview with Johnston ran on this site last Friday .
