Riley Named Top Editor at Dayton Daily

Kevin G. Riley, deputy editor of Cox Ohio Publishing, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the company’s 10 newspapers and editor of the Dayton Daily News.

He succeeds Jeff Bruce, who retired after nine years, the company announced Sunday.

Riley, 44, previously was Internet general manager, sports editor, news editor and features editor at the Daily News and publisher at Cox Ohio’s Springfield News-Sun. He had been deputy editor of Cox Ohio Publishing since September.

He started his career at the Dayton newspaper in 1983 as a copy editor.

The Daily News has a daily circulation of about 116,000.
