By: E&P Staff

The weekly Rogue River (Ore.) Press has been sold to Valley Pride Publications LLC, a family-owned business in Rogue River, it was announced Thursday.

Terms were not disclosed.

Kendall and Nancy Birdsall are the owners of Valley Pride. Their daughter, Teresa Pearson, will be the 1,850-paid circulation paper’s editor and publisher.

The Press was sold by Dave and Heidi Ehrhardt, a Rogue River couple who had owned the paper since 1994.

“After nearly 12 years, we felt it was time to pursue other opportunities,” Dave Ehrhardt said in a statement.

JP Media Partners, a Gold River, Calif.-based merger-and-acquisition firm for the newspaper industry, represented the Ehrhardts in the transaction.

Founded in 1960, the Press has won over 75 Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association Awards in the past 12 years, the paper said.
