Roy Brown Loses Ohio GOP Primary

By: Mark Fitzgerald

Despite spending $1 million — almost all of it his own money — Brown Publishing Co. CEO and President Roy Brown was crushed in Tuesday’s Republican primary election for a congressional seat in Ohio.

Former Dayton Mayor Mike Turner won 80% of the vote, with Brown getting 14% and a third candidate the remaining 6%. After the returns came in, Brown said he would concentrate on running his family’s papers, according to a Dayton Daily News story by Mei-Ling Hopgood.
