Salmon will net N.H. newspapers

Journal Transcript Newspapers Inc. has agreed in principle to sell its five weekly and two seasonal publications in New Hampshire to Stonebridge Press, Southbridge, Mass. The papers, with a combined weekly circulation of 35,000, will be part of a new company called Salmon Press Inc.
Stonebridge Press publishes nine newspapers in Massachusetts, including The Southbridge Evening News, daily circulation 5,315. Dirks, Van Essen & Associates represented Journal Transcript in the deal. Terms were not disclosed.
