Samuel P. Martin, 46, has been appointed chief advertising officer of Boston Globe Media.
In his new role, Martin will oversee the integrated advertising sales and marketing efforts for all the Globe?s media properties including The Boston Globe, Boston.com, Worcester Telegram and Gazette, and GlobeDirect, a direct marketing company.
Martin is currently senior vice president of sales for the North Jersey Media Group (NJMG) where he is responsible for the advertising departments of The Record and The Herald News, as well as the classified telecenter for the dailies and 43 weekly newspapers.
Before joining NJMG, Martin was senior vice president of marketing at the Cincinnati Enquirer where he was responsible for the marketing and advertising departments of the Enquirer and The Cincinnati Post. He was advertising director at the News Journal in Wilmington, Del. He started his career at the Dayton Daily News in Ohio.
