The San Angelo Standard-Times on Tuesday named Becky Brackin general manager and said it expects her to replace Publisher Robert Aguilar when he retires at the end of the year.
Brackin, who has been with the paper for eight years, will also be the general manager for the paper’s online edition, gosanangelo.com.
Brackin previously served as the paper’s director of marketing and online services.
She will become one of the company’s first leaders with previous experience running an online department, Mark Contreras, senior vice president of the newspaper division of the E.W. Scripps Company, said
in the paper’s online edition Tuesday.
Scripps announced in April that Aguilar was retiring. He will stay on to help Brackin and to assure a smooth transition.
