A book called “Schulz’s Youth,” which contains non-“Peanuts” cartoons that Charles M. Schulz did for “Youth” teen magazine in the 1950s and ’60s, will be released Friday.

The collection includes a foreword by Jerry Scott, who co-creates the “Zits” and “Baby Blues” comics for King Features Syndicate. (“Peanuts” reruns are syndicated by United Media.)

“Schulz’s Youth” is published by About Comics, whose founder, Nat Gertler, has been a cartoonist himself.
