Web Syndicator Signs Large Media Groups
ScreamingMedia has recruited several major news organizations pushing its number of content providers to nearly 500, making it one of the leading aggregators and distributors of real-time Web content, according to CEO Kevin Clark.
Among the nationally recognized media companies joining the network are USAToday.com, Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services, Scripps Howard, and The Christian Science Monitor. In addition, several regional newspapers such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Arizona Republic, New York Post, and Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader have joined the New York-based syndicator.
ScreamingMedia harvests real-time content from its network of providers and “e-distributes” it to various portals, affiliates, and vertical-market and corporate Web sites, including America Online, Microsoft, Healtheon, and Sun Microsystems.
