SCRIPPS CREATES CHIEF TECHNOLOGY POSITION

Craig Joins From Discovery Communications


The E.W. Scripps Co. of Cincinnati recently named B. Jeff Craig
to the newly created position of chief technology officer,
effective Feb. 19. The company said Craig will focus on
delivering information via the Internet, broadband, and other
new-media platforms for Scripps’ cable networks, newspapers, TV
stations, and 31 related Web sites.

The 20-year telecommunications and media industry veteran joins
from Discovery Communications Inc., where he was senior vice
president of interactive technology and new media development.
Craig will report to Rich Boehne, executive vice president.

At Discovery, Craig worked on the company’s strategy for enhanced
TV and broadband distribution of content.
