Australia’s Serendipity Software will present version 3.5 of its Blackmagic proofing software next month at Ifra in Vienna (with Graphic Products).
The new software, which offers certified softproofing at the press console, provides newspapers and other publications with a way of ensuring certified color softproofing using 30-inch displays. Satellite printing plants can also use the tool to view identical pages using the same certified conditions as used at the press console.
The new version is a stand-alone, server-based application that allows an unlimited number of press console users and the processing of publication sections at high speeds.
The software includes a built-in ICC monitor calibrator at each press console with an auto-reminder for multi-monitor systems, as well as a new calcheck chart creator, which allows users to import any industry-standard CIEL*a*b* values from ICC press profiles to form a target strip for pass/fail certification, according to the company.
