Tensor Group Inc., Woodridge, Ill., announced it recently sold a press line to Pyhajokiseudun Kirjapaino Oy, a contract printer of local newspapers in northern Finland which made its selection after visiting comparable Tensor press sites in Scandinavia.
To be installed early next year in the company’s plant in Oulainen, the order consists of seven Tensor T-400BE four-high towers, two H-50 heavy-duty jaw folders with quarterfolders, Inventor Graphic spray dampening, a DCOS footprint shaftless drive system, Perretta automatic register controls, remote inking and two Motterstitch stitchers.
Sold through and supported by agent AB Wamuc Suomi Oy, it will be Tensor’s largest press line in Finland.
Founded in 1964, Pyhajokiseudun Kirjapaino Oy purchased in 2000 Oulun Kirjateollisuus Oy, a print shop in Oulu, and merged it with the Oulainen facility. Earlier this year, it bought the business operation, including machinery and equipment, of Kainuun Sanomat Newspaper printing house, a division of the Alma Media Group in Kajaani. Pyhajokiseudun Kirjapaino Oy will now print Alma Media’s local newspapers on contract.
Pyhajokiseudun Kirjapaino Oy will primarily print half- and quarterfolded tabloids, as well as broadsheet newspapers like Kainuun Kanomat.
