Blackburn Media Group has acquired several properties in Texas.
Plains Press sold the Knox County News, a community weekly with a circulation of 800, to Blackburn. Texas Media Enterprises sold the group The Post Dispatch, with a circulation of 1,500. And Ken Towery and his family sold the Floyd County Hesperian-Beacon (circ, 2,000) to Blackburn.
The company also acquired a central printing plant, Blanco Press, owned by a group of investors led by Wendell Tooley.
In other Texas transaction news, Wesley W. Burnett and Texas Media Enterprises acquired the 2,400-circ The Rockwell County News from MET Publishing.
Terms of all the deals, brokered by W.B. Grimes & Co., were not disclosed.
