The San Francisco Chronicle is testing some touch screen tables in one of the area’s coffee chains. The tables, manufactured by TableTouch, have built in PCs with LCD displays allowing customers free access to the paper’s Web site, SFGate.com.
Tully’s Coffee will make the tables available at seven of its locations around the Bay Area.
“This is yet another way for us to connect with the communities we serve, and make our content available in new and innovative ways,” Henry S. Ford, senior marketing director for the Chronicle and SFGate, said in a statement.
Customers will be able to navigate by touch daily news and features. At some point in the future, readers might have access to online classifieds and other functions.
