Stuart Shinske, executive editor of the Norwich (Conn.) Bulletin, has been named executive editor/director of content and audience development at the Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal.
Shinske is no stranger to the Poughkeepsie Journal — he spent twelve years there before coming to the Norwich Bulletin in 2005.
His journalism career began as a reporter for the Darien (Conn.) News-Review in 1985. In 1989 he joined the Ocala (Fl.) Star-Banner as a backup city desk editor and education writer. Later that year, he joined the Poughkeepsie Journal as deputy city editor and rose through the ranks to become managing editor before leaving in 2001. He then moved to the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, N.J., where he also served as managing editor. In May 2005, Shinske joined the Norwich Bulletin as executive editor.
A replacement for Shinske at the Norwich Bulletin has not been named.
