Robert Granfeldt Jr. has been appointed vice president of digital media for Southern Community Newspapers Inc. (SCNI), publisher of seven newspapers in Georgia.
Granfeldt, who will assume the newly created position in early August, most recently served as senior vice president for sales at NewsBank Inc. in Naples, Fla. He will be headquartered in Lawrenceville at the Gwinnett Daily Post. In his new capacity, he will oversee all digital operations of Southern Community Newspapers’ properties.
Granfeldt started his newspaper career at the age of 20 at the Lubbock (Texas) Avalanche-Journal. He has held various positions with Morris DigitalWorks, a division of Morris Communications, in Augusta, including vice president of revenue development and vice president of audience and revenue development.
SCNI publishes six daily newspapers — the Rockdale Citizen, Newton Citizen, Gwinnett Daily Post, Albany Herald, Clayton News-Daily, Henry Daily Herald — and one weekly, the Jackson Progress-Argus.
