Texas sports journalist T.R. Sullivan has been named an official scorer for the 2005 All-Star Game in Detroit on July 12.

Sullivan once served as sports editor of the former Denison (Texas) Herald, and currently is a baseball writer for the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram. He is also the president of the Baseball Writers Association of America, an organization for which he has previously served as vice president.

Sullivan will be recognized again for his dedication to the sport on Nov. 12 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Houston when he is inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. He joins six other honorees, including former Texas Rangers catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez and former Houston Astros pitcher Joe Niekro.
