The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times will upgrade 162 printing couples on its Goss Metro and Metroliner presses with a Goss digital inking system as part of a two-year enhancement program for much of its plant’s printing equipment.
Production Manager Alvin Nesmith called the digital inking from Goss “an integral part of our improvement plan. The product is a cost-effective way of vastly enhancing print quality without having to invest in a whole new press.”
Compatible with many presses, the inker can deliver precise ink quantities, allowing full use of presetting systems to raise quality and reduce start-up waste and operator intervention.
