The St. Petersburg Times and Bright House Networks cable news channel Bay News 9 announced a partnership to share news and weather reports.
The news organizations will begin sharing content Monday, but will also remain independent from each other and continue partnerships with other media organizations.
Under the agreement, Bay News 9 will provide a weather report and station meteorologists will respond to Times’ reader questions in an “ask the weather experts” feature. Bay News 9 will feature Times’ journalists and highlight the paper’s stories.
“We’re delighted to provide our readers with a new and improved weather page that features the weather expertise and proven track record of Bay News 9,” said Neil Brown, executive editor and vice president of the Times.
The newspaper and television station already collaborate on a hurricane guide and a weekly political talk show.
“Bay News 9 is excited about partnering with the most-read newspaper in Florida,” said Elliott Wiser, vice president and general manager of Bay News 9. “Our viewers and readers will greatly benefit from this collaboration.”
