The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W.Va., is expected to make some staff reductions, perhaps as early as today, according to Amy Howat, director of advertising and marketing.

She revealed that some cuts would be made, but added “we don’t have a confirmed amount yet because some things are still in the process of taking effect. We are not ready to release anything.”

The newspaper is owned by the local Champion Industries of Huntington, which bought the daily from Gatehouse Media in 2007.
