‘Star Tribune’ Choses AdPay for Online Classifieds

The Star Tribune in Minneapolis will use AdPay’s Click and Buy Classifieds system to enhance the paper’s online classifieds.

Click and Buy is a newspaper-branded, Internet-hosted application that integrates with newspaper classified-ad entry and posting systems. It gives classified advertisers the ability to enhance their online classifieds with extended text, photos, and multimedia. Click and Buy also provides advertisers the option of selling merchandise for a fixed price, a negotiated price, or by an auction. Buyers can also make payments online.

“We’re leveraging this technology to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers,” said Ken Riddick, executive director of interactive for the Star Tribune. “That’s an important role for newspapers to play in online business.”

The Star Tribune is a top-20 circ newspaper, and startribune.com is the most frequently used local news and information service for the Twin Cities market.
