Clickshare Service Corp. of Williamstown, Mass., announced a new client this week: the Star Tribune of Minneapolis. The McClatchy newspaper will use Clickshare’s technology for registration, subscription, and shared-authentication services that will enable startribune.com users to subscribe to crossword and other puzzles from uclick.com.
“Other potential pay-for-content and services are still being identified,” said Robert Schafer, director of business development at startribune.com, in a statement. He said there are currently no plans to charge a fee for general access to the newspaper’s Web site.
Clickshare provides an Internet transaction infrastructure allowing consumers to use one account across numerous Web sites. Other clients include Belo and MediaNews Corp.
