A former California newspaper executive editor is the new publisher of the Statesman Journal.
Steve Silberman was named the Statesman Journal’s new publisher Thursday, replacing Brian Priester, who accepted a job as publisher of the Lansing State Journal.
Silberman previously worked as the executive editor of the Palm Springs Desert Sun.
Silberman says he has always dreamed of working in Salem. The New York native has also served as the managing editor at the Idaho Statesman in Boise and as an editor at the Orange County Register.
