Stoeffler Takes the Reins at ‘Arizona Daily Star’

Lee Enterprises Inc. announced today that its vice president for news, David Stoeffler, will replace Jane Amari, who recently announced plans to step down as editor and publisher of the Arizona Daily Star.

It came on a day that the company also announced that it has completed its $1.46 billion acquisition of Star parent company Pulitzer Inc.

Stoeffler, 46, became Lee?s vice president for news in 2001. A former editor of the Lincoln (Nebraska) Journal Star, Stoeffler joined Lee in 1979 and spent 14 years at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, where he rose to city editor. He became editor of the La Crosse Tribune in 1995 and advanced to the Journal Star in 1997.
