Study Finds More Than a Quarter of Journalism Grads Wish They’d Chosen Another Career

About 28 percent of journalism grads wish they’d chosen another field, the annual survey of grads by the University of Georgia’s Grady College says.
“That it is a significant percent cannot be doubted,” the study’s authors write.

This is news? In looking at the graph I see that the regret rate hasn’t changed much since they began asking the question in 1999. And based on the level of grumbling and defections to PR, law school and such that I saw back in my newsroom days, I think the regret rate was about the same decades ago. Journalism isn’t for everyone, and some discover that a bit late.
