New York Times Chairman and Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. will participate in the 9th International Newsroom Summit, to be held Sept. 8 and 9 in London.
Organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) and Newsplex, the Newsroom Summit, will cover such topics as building new audiences for print, developing paid-content strategies for digital media, designing efficient multi-title newsrooms, publishing on smart phones, and creating effective hyperlocal content.
Sulzberger plans to discuss paid content, leveraging audience and reader engagement. The Times plans to roll out its own paid model next year.
Other speakers at the summit include Jeff Jarvis, associated professor and director of the Interactive Journalism Program at the City University of New York; Washington Post Managing Editor Raju Narisetti; and Reetta Meriläinen, editor-in-chief of Finland’s Helsingin Sanomat.
