Moniker To Emphasize Reach Beyond Fort Lauderdale
The Sun-Sentinel, in an effort to better define its coverage area, officially added “South Florida” to its nameplate Wednesday. Editors had expressed frustration at being referred to as the “Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel,” for while the paper is located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., it covers Broward, Palm Beach, and Dade counties.
The change, already made to the nameplate, editorial masthead (where “South Florida” had been below Sun-Sentinel), and the home page of the Web site, will be implemented gradually throughout the paper as plans are in the works for a redesign next year.
