Chicago Tribune Media Group will distribute all single-copy sales copies of the Chicago Sun-Times in the city of Chicago under an expansion of their distribution agreement that was announced Tuesday by Sun-Times Media.
Chicago Tribune Media Group already delivers all home-delivered copies of the Sun-Times in the city and the suburbs, as well as Sun-Times Media suburban newspapers and newsstand copies outside Chicago city limits. The agreement to distribute retail copies inside Chicago begins Oct. 18.
“The Chicago Tribune Media Group’s well-developed distribution capabilities will allow us to continue to focus on where we can add the most value to Chicago Sun-Times advertisers and readers,” Sun-Times Media President and COO Rick Surkamer said in a statement. “This move is part of Sun-Times Media’s transformation into a dynamic, 24/7 multimedia company, allowing us to further focus on strategies and initiatives that help us reach that goal.”
Chicago Tribune Media Group currently distributes many publications in the Chicago area, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Investor Business Daily and USA Today.
