Sun-Times Media has expanded its partnership with independent publisher of local real estate news and data Blockshopper.com, with the goal of offering the region’s best residential real estate news and information on the Web — as well as new online features that include a research tab on SearchChicago.com/Homes that provides readers the ability to search all public-record real estate data across the six-county Chicago region.
In June, Sun-Times Media announced the introduction of local real estate pages produced by Blockshopper.com in 43 Sun-Times Media publications, including the Chicago Sun-Times, Pioneer Press newspaper group, SouthtownStar and two Sun publications. The real estate content includes news on home sales, home listings, foreclosures, tax assessment information and what properties are being bought and sold in local Chicago neighborhoods.
“Expanding our partnership with BlockShopper.com will provide even more benefits to Sun-Times Media advertisers,” Barbara Swanson, senior vice president of advertising and marketing for Sun-Times Media, said in a statement. Advertisers can take advantage of such new features as paid-listings news in which brokers can be named in real estate stories; “Market Experts” in which a broker can “own” a neighborhood or community and show up as the resident expert online through our sites and on search engines; and an “Active Agent” feature that allows agents to make “notes” on properties and provide online updates on sales, such as price changes, community notes and opening houses.
“All of these things help our readers get more information more easily about potential homes, and helps our advertisers better reach their desired target customers,” said Swanson.
Blockshopper.com real estate news and information will appear on Sun-Times Media publication’s Web sites including Suntimes.com, SouthtownStar.com, SearchChicago Homes, the Wheaton Sun, the Barrington Courier-Review, the Highland Park News, the Northbrook Star, the Park Ridge Advocate and the Proviso Herald, among many others.
