Amy Lago, comics editor at the Washington Post Writers Group, defended the use of more candid language in comics sections — which remain mostly G-rated.
“I think using staid language is a mistake for newspapers,” Lago wrote in the syndicate’s blog. She added that “it?s important to recognize that language changes — what once was unacceptable to one generation becomes acceptable to another.”
