The Enterprise of Brockton, Mass., has included Taunton as part of a zoned edition of its daily newspaper for decades, and today it launched a seven-day Taunton-centric spinoff, The Taunton Enterprise. The new paper will focus on the people, issues and concerns of local residents with exclusive local news and features.
The newspaper represents the first of what may be a series of
“micro-zoned” daily news products from Enterprise NewsMedia, providng intensely local coverage to urban and suburban centers. Taunton has 23,000 households and is located in Bristol County, MA, 32 miles southwest of Boston.
“The city has seen considerable social, economic and demographic changes during the past decade. It is poised to become a force in one of the fastest growing regions of the state,” said Kirk Davis, publisher of The Enterprise and CEO of parent company Enterprise NewsMedia LLC. “It’s time it had a newspaper that reflected that significance.”
