Teen Film Fans Turn To Newspapers

By: Joe Strupp

Teen-agers still rely on newspapers as their primary source for movie and entertainment information, according to a new survey by Newspapers First, the New York-based marketing and sales organization.

In a poll of 1,500 teens as they exited U.S. theaters, 52% said they had consulted a print newspaper for their movie timetable needs, while only 42% said they went to an online site.

“This study validates the use of our medium to reach teen-agers,” said Jay T. Zitz, president and CEO of Newspapers First, which conducted the poll with 15 major daily papers.
