A Texarkana (Texas) Gazette newspaper carrier is being hailed as a hero for saving three people from a burning mobile home while delivering her route.
Jane Newton told the paper, in a story by Jim Williamson, that she was delivering the Gazette about 1 a.m. Thursday when she thought she saw flames from the home.
She stopped her car to take a second look, she told the paper: “I thought maybe I’m not seeing what I’m seeing. Then it definitely looked like a fire.”
Newton rushed to the mobile home, and banged on its doors with her fists. The noise woke the family of three sleeping inside — who all escaped without injury.
