Nearly seven years after the disappearance of Mexico City bureau chief Philip True, San Antonio Express-News Editor Robert Rivard has penned a book on the tragedy. “Trail of Feathers” [Public Affairs Books] hits stores in September.
The 411-page tome chronicles the story of True and Rivard, which began when the reporter disappeared in December 1998 while traveling through Huichol Indian territory in Mexico’s Sierra Madre. Rivard took up the search for True within days of his disappearance, and followed a trail of feathers that had leaked from True’s sleeping bag to find his body.
