The Arizona Republic soon will unveil a new subscription model, joining a rapidly growing number of news organizations that charge for access to their content on both print and digital platforms.

Starting Sept. 10, online users of who don’t have a subscription to The Republic generally will need to pay if they want to continue reading a significant number of articles and related content on the website. Certain pages and material, including the home page, section fronts, obituaries, classified advertising and stories with a strong public-safety focus, will remain available.
