The newest AdBoss Suite application from Software Consulting Services LLC, Nazareth, Pa., is now in daily use at The Express-Times, Easton, Pa. PaperCheckAdBoss (PCAB) automates paper checking for accounting/credit managers to assure accuracy in invoicing and e-tearsheet locations.
Helping produce a documented audit trail of publications, PCAB examines ad images, page images and digital ad manifests. Designed for speed and ease of use, it checks for consistency using advanced pattern recognition based on image processing and natural-language processing. It checks for 18 types of inconsistencies, including size, page location, position on page, color usage and advertiser.
With PCAB, Express-Times credit clerk Jill Machado checks the daily, including all of its zones. Another staff member uses PCAB to check the weekly US newspaper. Jill is adding checking for the seven weekly North Jersey Newspapers that weren’t being paper checked previously.
PCAB helps improve advertiser services while speeding up clerical tasks. “Compact PCAB reports allow us to discard big paper files,” Express-Times Credit Manager Becky Weaver said in a statement.
PCAB was part of a joint development effort by SCS and the Express-Times, whose publisher, Martin Till, has endorsed future projects with SCS.
