NEW YORK — The Forward and the New York Daily News have announced that New York’s Hometown Newspaper will print the American Jewish world’s most important newspapers on its state-of-the-art, high-volume full-color press equipment.
With the July 22 English-language edition and the July 15-21 Yiddish-language edition, the Forward will begin producing its entire national press run on Daily News presses in Jersey City, New Jersey. In addition to printing, the Daily News will also provide a full package of pre- and post-press services, improving the quality of reproduction, expanding the options for advertisers and accelerating the delivery schedule to subscribers. “Working with the Daily News will enhance the appearance and the value of our newspapers,” said Samuel Norich, publisher of the Forward. “We want to ensure our loyal audience, which directly supports our independent journalism by buying the English and Yiddish papers every week, has the best possible reading experience.”
“The Daily News is pleased to provide publishers, like the Forward, with full-service printing on our state-of-the-art color presses, revenue-enhancing packaging and distribution solutions,” said Daily News CEO Bill Holiber. “The Daily News offers publishers full pre-press, printing, inserting and distribution packages with unrivaled print quality and expertise.”
“In addition to its beautiful color reproduction, the Daily News also presents us with expanded inserting and labeling capabilities to better serve our advertisers,” Norich added.
In 2009, the Daily News became the first major market daily newspaper in the United States to be produced in 100 percent color on new press equipment manufactured by KBA, a global leader in printing technology. The KBA presses, which are capable of replicating any color in the Pantone color spectrum, provide advertisers with unprecedented opportunities to run high-resolution, full-color images on any page in the paper, in any size.
