‘The Ledger’ in Lakeland, Fla., Names Sports Editor

Anna Maria Della Costa has been named sports editor of The Ledger in Lakeland, Fla.

Della Costa, 33, joins the Ledger from Sarasota, where she worked as a reporter covering non-profits for the Herald-Tribune.

Before that, she was city editor, assistant city editor, and a sports reporter for The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) News. She also worked as a sports reporter at Florida Today in Melbourne and The Tribune in Fort Pierce, and as an editor at The Villages Daily Sun in Lady Lake.

Della Costa replaces Ted Kruljac who is leaving the newspaper business to teach middle school in Gainesville and attend graduate school.
