‘The State’ in Columbia, S.C., Appoints New VP/Advertising

Terri Leifeste has been appointed vice president of advertising at The State in Columbia, S.C., effective Jan. 8.

Leifeste most recently served as general manager of Gannett’s Middle Tennessee Community Newspapers in Nashville, overseeing 12 publications. In her new capacity, she will report to Publisher Henry B. Haitz III.

A Texas native, Leifeste has a background in advertising, having served as retail advertising director at the Chicago Sun-Times. She also has been publisher of several small newspapers including the Courier News in Elgin, Ill., and the Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner.
