The Washington Post Extends Coverage of First Presidential Debate to Facebook Live, Text Messaging

The Washington Post is amplifying its coverage of the first presidential debate on September 26, 2016, adding Facebook Live and, for the first time, text messaging to the high-quality reporting, fact-checking and analysis that readers have come to expect from The Post during this campaign season.

Before and after the debate, The Post will host a Facebook Live show anchored by political reporters Ed O’Keefe and Abby Phillip, who will be on-site at Hofstra. Readers can submit questions, interacting with reporters on the ground and campaign insiders who join for interviews following the debate. Mobile readers will also be able to sign-up to get The Fix’s Aaron Blake’s take on the must-watch moments of the night via text message (SMS). Given the emphasis on lies in this campaign, The Post’s industry-leading fact-checking team will be separating truth from fiction as the debate happens and after it’s done.
