    I am the owner of a family-owned weekly in Arkansas, and yes, small-town newspapers can be profitable if your staff is small and you have a supportive community. So many young journalists have become discouraged by the closing of so many newspapers and seek other outlets for their skills, but if they invest in their communities they will find that the rewards are great.
