A comic called “DeFlocked” is being launched May 5 by King Features Syndicate.

The humor strip stars an inter-species group of four outcasts who live on a farm. They include a cynical sheep named Mamet, a sensible dog named Cobb, an optimistic dog named Rupert, and an eight-year-old boy named Tucker who the brother canines have raised since babyhood.

“DeFlocked” is by Hollywood comedy writer Jeff Corriveau, who has contributed to “Saturday Night Live” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and served as co-head writer of the Emmy-winning “Talk Soup.”

King Features said early clients for Corriveau’s comic include The Arizona Republic, Chicago Sun-Times, Denver Rocky Mountain News, Detroit Free Press, Orange County Register, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
