New Site Combines Content, Commerce
Times Co. Digital relaunched GolfDigest.com yesterday as a personalized content and
Visitors to the site are invited to fill out a detailed questionnaire regarding
personal information, skill level, and other questions about the game. The site then
customizes articles, graphics, and instructional tips to each user.
GolfDigest.com will also feature what the company is calling ‘advanced product
placement’ that will allow users to instantly purchase products that correspond to
selected articles. Partners include MammothGolf.com, EdwinWatts.com, and igogolf.com.
GolfDigest.com provides the complete content of Golf Digest magazine and Web-only
content, including live tournament coverage. Golf Digest magazine was founded in
1950, and purchased by The New York Times Co. in 1969.
