Publishing Business Systems, Minneapolis? Minn., will license The Times-Picayune, New Orleans, La., to use the PBS MediaPlus Circulation suite of solutions.

MediaPlus Circulation has tools to increase productivity, automate manual tasks, and streamline marketing activities. “I’m looking forward to taking advantage of some of the marketing capabilities within the system, such as demographic profiling, to better target opportunities and build our subscriber base,” Times-Picayune Circulation Vice President Philip Ehrhardt said in a statement. “Demographic profiling will also allow our customer service representatives to provide even better service to our subscribers.”

The Times-Picayune also licensed two complementary online, self-service applications: MediaPlus iServices Subscriber and MediaPlus iServices Distribution, adding convenience and efficiency for employees and customers. iServices Subscriber makes it easy for new customers to start a subscription, and will enable existing customers to view or change subscription information themselves through the Internet. iServices Distribution gives independent contractors and employees easy access to information for distribution accounting online.

Additional licensed applications are MediaPlus CirculationInSight, an analysis and reporting tool, and MediaPlus InsertPlus, which aids insert planning and delivery. All are integrated with the core MediaPlus Circulation system.

Available with Oracle or Progress database compatibility, MediaPlus Circulation is being installed on Oracle for the Times-Picayune.
